Biography
Gerardo Jerez le Cam's biography
A pianist and composer born in Argentina, Gerardo Jerez le Cam settled in France in 1992 and devoted himself to writing music, especially for theatre. There he also came into contact with Eastern European music and merged it with tango, creating in 1996 the ensemble Translave, formed by Romanian, Belorussian and French musicians. On this occasion, Jerez le Cam will deliver a concert of European avant-garde music merged with Balkan music and tango, drawing influence from Piazzolla. The line-up is: Juanjo Mosalini Jr (bandoneon), Romanian musician Iacob Maciuca, (violin), Mahai Trestian (cimbalom) and himself on the piano. The cimbalom, typical of Eastern Europe, is a string instrument played with beaters.
