Biography
Anita Co's biography
Anita Co is a singer and actress. In 2008 she released her first album, Pecado, featuring tangos and boleros, and especially tragic tangos like “Rencor,” “Soledad” and “En Esta Tarde Gris.” Among the boleros, there is the creation by brothers Expósito (which was turned into a hit by Cuban singer Bola de Nieve): Vete de mí. She claims that boleros have “the same melodramatic essence of tango. There is nothing ‘light’ about them, and I love that.” Playing with registers and her grave voice, Anita explores that dark density which is the common denominator between tango and bolero. Anita comes from a music family: she is the daughter of pianist Juan Carlos Cuacci (who did the musical direction of Pecado), the niece of Susana Rinaldi and the cousin of Alfredo Piro. As an actress, she has worked in television and theatre and shared the stage with great artists such as Guillermo Fernández and Rodolfo Bebán.
