Esteban Riera's biography
In 2002 Esteban Riera won the contest Hugo del Carril for Best Male Solo Vocalist. In 2004, he was awarded Best Newcomer at the Cosquín National Folklore Festival. In 2004 he recorded his first album, Soy cantor, alongside the sextet Vale Tango. In the following years he shared the stage with Carlos García, Osvaldo Piro, Raúl Garello, Néstor Marconi, Atilio Stampone and Osvaldo Berlinghieri, with whom toured around Japan twice. From 2006 up to the late 2007 he was a member of the company of dancer Julio Bocca, touring Latin America, the United States and Europe until the great dancer retired from the stages. Riera took part in the show Vibraciones del Alma, produced by Compañía Corporación Tangos, appearing in Buenos Aires and different Mexican cities in 2008 and 2009. His second album came out in 2008 under the title Tal vez será su voz, with accompaniment by Oscar De Elía’s trio. On this occasion, Esteban Riera will be appearing alongside Julián Hermida (guitar) and Juanjo Hermida (piano).
