Biography
María Estela Monti's biography
María Estela Monti has three solo albums under her belt. Two of them, Ciudadana (2003) and Ciudad Secreta (2005), were nominated for the Latin Grammy in their category. She is now presenting her fourth album, Solo Piazzolla, entirely dedicated to the work of the great Astor Piazzolla. In her concert, she will be delivering the repertoire from this album, including classics such as Balada Para Mi Muerte and La Última Grela, the rarely sung Oblivion (all three with lyrics by Horacio Ferrer), the very unusual milonga flavour of Campo, Camino y Amor, with lyrics by Atahualpa Yupanqui, and two never released songs by Piazzolla: Alienación (lyrics by Francisco Bagalá) and Vals del 18. Respecting the spirit of Piazzolla while enabling the singer to show off her talent, the musical arrangements were done by pianist Nicolás Guerschberg, who will be joining her together with Alejandro Guerschberg (bandoneón), Francisco Fernández (guitar) and Pablo Motta (double bass).
